Regal: Where true character meets its finest expression
The exterior design of the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS provides an even stronger visual presence. The focal point of the new front end is the redesigned, Maybach-specific radiator grille. Its illuminated surround creates a distinctive signature. For the first time on the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, the MAYBACH name is subtly illuminated within the grille. In addition, the standing Mercedes-Benz star on the hood can also be optionally illuminated, adding another new touch of distinction (delayed availability).
The Maybach-specific headlamps further sharpen the appearance. These feature refined Rose Gold touches and accent lighting that runs along the sides of the star elements and across the transition between the headlamps and radiator grille. A sleek black panel visually connects the headlamps and grille into one cohesive design. The front air inlet grilles are adorned with the Maybach pattern finished in chrome. The new front bumper gives the front end a more assertive, refined look, while a Maybach-specific chrome underguard adds a further distinctive element.
At the rear of the vehicle, a redesigned tailgate features an elegant design element that visually unites the new taillights and further emphasizes the width of the vehicle. Three-dimensional star motifs, each framed in chrome, characterize the taillights and underscore the unmistakable Maybach identity.
An expanded colour palette of exterior paints provides even greater opportunity for personalization with new Dark Petrol, MANUFAKTUR Patagonia Red Metallic and the exclusive Dark Petrol / Verde Silver Metallic two-tone finish.

The MANUFAKTUR program offers a wide range of personalization options, allowing customers to make their Maybach truly their own. The extended MANUFAKTUR portfolio for the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS features exclusive leather interior packages with full leather appointments, including the headliner. Crafted by MANUFAKTUR in Sindelfingen, the special headliner is hand-stitched entirely by a single craftsperson with their own individual signature. Up to 20 precisely cut leather sections are combined to create the finished piece. In 2026, the headliner is the most popular and most requested MANUFAKTUR refinement among Maybach customers globally, underscoring the importance of meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail for this segment.
Elevated wheel choices
The available 23-inch Maybach forged wheels feature a new Mercedes-Benz star engineered to remain upright at all times – emphasizing that no detail is too small to be perfected. A precision ball-bearing mechanism enables the iconic star to maintain its vertical alignment as the wheel rotates. Like a compass that always finds true north, it remains unwavering and composed regardless of movement around it.
A new standard 22-inch wheel with characteristic 20-hole design further enhances the wheel portfolio for the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS.
The art of a grand welcome
With the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, entering the vehicle becomes a special occasion. When a door is opened, the electric running boards extend smoothly into position in less than one second. The running boards are finished in anodized aluminum with non-slip black rubber inserts and a chrome Maybach emblem. At night, integrated LED lighting illuminates the step, while a Mercedes-Maybach pattern is projected onto the ground. As the doors close, the boards retract seamlessly into the side sill panel.

The optional Maybach Night Series Design Package and Exterior Design Package create an even more distinctive look for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Dark Chrome elements at the front and along the sides of the vehicle create a more understated and technical aesthetic. The electrically deployed running boards are finished in dark anodized aluminum. Exclusive 23-inch Maybach Night Series wheels in a seven-spoke design feature inserts with the Maybach pattern. Alternatively, Night Series Crystal White Nappa Leather with Black Pearl accents offers a striking contrast. MANUFAKTUR Open-Pore Dark Brown Fishbone Pattern Walnut Wood Trim elements complete the specially curated interior design.

New design elements, expanded comfort features and additional acoustic enhancements further elevate the interior experience. Every journey is intended to be more relaxed, more comfortable and more immersive, creating a sense of calm and wellbeing for all occupants.
The new MBUX Superscreen seamlessly combines digital elegance with handcrafted luxury. The Maybach-specific design for the driver display features Rose Gold dials, casting reflections across the surface like light shining through fine jewelry. An understated Gold Maybach emblem sits between the two dials. Behind this, a delicately textured backdrop in Gold, Rose Gold and Black sets a tone of composed opulence.
The new illuminated outer climate control air vents are visually integrated into the glass surface on either side of the MBUX Superscreen. The air vent design replaces conventional fins with freely moving gondolas that direct airflow precisely while contributing to the sculptural appearance of the dashboard.
Exceptional comfort in every seat: New massage functions
The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS offers outstanding comfort for every occupant. The multi-contour front seats feature a newly developed vibration massage in the seat cushions, ensuring the driver and front passenger arrive at every destination feeling relaxed and restored. For rear passengers, the rear Executive Seats introduce a new massage function that, for the first time, extends to the calf rests.
A cosmos of the senses: Deeper cocooning effect than ever before
Available new Beech Brown / Macchiato Beige Maybach Exclusive Nappa leather upholstery adds warmth and depth to the interior. Two new trim finishes further enhance the wide range of personalization options: Open-Pore walnut brown wood trim (with fishbone pattern) and an exclusive High-Gloss Silver/Black Metallic Mixed Fabric Trim Between the rear seats, trim elements conceal the glass door of the optional refrigerated rear compartment.
The standard Burmester® 3D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos has also been enhanced. Two additional surround speakers in the rear cabin, combined with a more powerful 710-watt amplifier, bring the total number of speakers to 15 and expand the acoustic range within the cabin, creating an even richer sound experience for all occupants.
Exceptional acoustic comfort
The acoustic comfort of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS has been further enhanced through additional insulation measures. The transmission tunnel and engine bulkhead are lined with a high-quality non-woven insulation material, while specially developed insulation on the engine cover reduces high-frequency sounds of the combustion engine. Acoustic foam in select areas of the bodyshell further prevents engine, road and wind noise from reaching the cabin. The result is a realm of extraordinary serenity.
Effortless performance
At the heart of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680 is the latest evolution of the electrified twin-turbo eight-cylinder engine (M 177 Evo) that delivers an impressive 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque – an increase of 53 hp and 89 lb-ft. The highly refined unit features smooth power delivery, responds more quickly to accelerator inputs and operates more efficiently. Two newly added Lanchester balance shafts further enhance the engine’s exceptional refinement.
The new V8 powertrain is equipped with a second-generation integrated starter generator (ISG 2.0). This 48-volt mild-hybrid system supports the engine’s linear power delivery and enables 23 hp of boost, coasting, recuperation and seamless operation of the start-stop function.
The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS offers an even more refined driving experience, harmoniously combining serenity, efficiency and effortless power. This is further elevated by the exclusive MAYBACH drive program, designed specifically for supreme ride comfort.
Revised steering: A new level of precision and agility
A revised steering system with a more direct steering ratio provides greater precision, agility and response for every journey – whether navigating the grandest of boulevards or winding roads. The steering feel is more immediate and handling is more intuitive for a more composed and confident overall driving experience.
Serene ride comfort with E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL: Intelligence at 1,000 decisions per second
The E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL uses five multi-core processors and more than 20 sensors to analyze the driving situation 1,000 times per second and adapt the suspension accordingly. By individually controlling spring and damper forces at each wheel, the system can counteract roll, pitch and lift movements. In CURVE mode, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS leans into corners by up to three degrees, significantly reducing lateral forces for every occupant.
Based on the AIRMATIC air suspension, the system keeps the vehicle level regardless of payload or terrain. In the dedicated Off-Road program, the suspension automatically raises and lowers several times, which can help free the vehicle more easily from deep sand or mud. This alternately increases or reduces the pressure of the wheels on the driving surface to improve traction.
Operating on a 48-volt system, E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL can also recuperate energy. Four 48-volt motor-pump units – one at each wheel – are coordinated by a central control unit.
Intuitive: Where digital technology serves perfection
Powered by the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), the system uses artificial intelligence (AI), advanced processing architecture and is connected to the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud. Over-the-air updates for the entire vehicle software keep the Mercedes-Maybach GLS up to date over time and refreshed.
Intelligence meets personalization: The new world of MBUX
The new generation of MBUX infotainment is showcased on the standard MBUX Superscreen. Three 12.3-inch digital displays are positioned under a large, seamless glass surface. The MBUX Zero Layer displays the most relevant information, recently used apps2 and suggestions. In the app grid, customers can arrange and group apps into personalized folders, making the experience more individual.
The MBUX Virtual Assistant integrates AI from ChatGPT, Microsoft and Google. This multi-agent approach enables the intelligent assistant to engage in complex, multi-part conversations and has short-term memory. The MBUX Virtual Assistant is always present on the MBUX Zero Layer as a "living avatar" in the shape of the iconic Mercedes-Benz star in Maybach-specific Rose Gold.
A world apart: Suite of entertainment for rear passengers
With the new optional MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment, two 11.6-inch full-HD displays are paired with newly designed, individually configurable standard rear MBUX remotes. The displays and remotes feature the Maybach-specific user interface. Integrated cameras in the rear displays support video conferencing2, bringing a new level of comfort and connectivity to rear passengers. The rear MBUX remotes enable quick access to climate, comfort and entertainment functions.
First-class driver assistance technologies1
The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS is equipped with 10 external cameras, five radar sensors, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a water-cooled supercomputer running on MB.OS with sufficient power reserves for future functions. This exceptionally powerful control unit is capable of up to 254 trillion operations per second (TOPs). Artificial intelligence processes the sensor data to assess the driving situation.
The extensive suite of standard driver assistance features includes Digital Extra: MB.DRIVE ASSIST2 and Digital Extra: Distance Assist DISTRONIC2, among other technologies. Optional Digital Extra: MB.DRIVE ASSIST PLUS2,3 offers further expanded features.
Digital Extra: MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST2,4 included standard, can better and more quickly detect parking spaces on both sides of the vehicle, including spaces that are not marked with white lines. The system can also now assist when leaving a parking space, even if the driver previously parked the vehicle manually. The Digital Extra: Reverse maneuvering function2 enables the vehicle to automatically reverse part of the route most recently driven, under certain conditions. While this feature is active, the image from the reversing camera and a graphic representation of the planned route are shown on the central multimedia display. This is particularly useful in driving situations where a maneuver to turn the vehicle around is not possible.
The Digital Extra: Rim Protection Warning2, included as part of the standard Digital Extra: MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST 3602, displays a top‑view distance alert when maneuvering in tight spaces, helping the driver avoid damage to the wheels.
Special expertise: Production in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS is assembled in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. For three decades, the plant has assembled the large SUVs bearing the three-pointed star for markets around the world. From the pioneering M-Class in 1997 to today’s models from Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Maybach, more than five million SUVs have rolled off the production line, all defining excellence in their segment.
During production, a dedicated Mercedes-Maybach team hand-finishes the model-specific interior features of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. Selected for their skill and experience, the team members receive dedicated training in Germany at Mercedes-Maybach MANUFAKTUR. Two team members are responsible for the complete finishing of each vehicle – a process that takes place outside the regular assembly flow of the other SUV models. Before and after these dedicated stations, the Mercedes-Maybach GLS is integrated into Mercedes-Benz SUV production for final completion and approval.
The Mercedes-Maybach specialists assume a high degree of personal responsibility and identify strongly with the product. Particular attention is paid to the careful handling of the exquisite interior, with its extensive use of Nappa leather and wood trim elements. The entire process – from the production of these components by highly specialized suppliers, to assembly by specially trained team members, through to final approval – is designed to achieve a flawless result.
