Mercedes-Benz at the Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS)

MONTREAL – Having defended its leadership position in Canada's luxury segment for the fifth consecutive year, Mercedes-Benz carries its considerable momentum into 2019 by showcasing a number of exciting Canadian Premieres at the Montreal International Auto Show (MIAS).

The following vehicles make their Canadian or regional premieres at the Montreal Auto Show.

Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC SUV

For model year 2020, the GLE has been updated with a wealth of new innovations and features. The exterior sets a new standard for aerodynamics in the SUV segment, while the interior is more spacious and comfortable than ever before with a longer wheelbase and third row seating now available.

With Mercedes-Benz's cutting-edge new infotainment system, MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), at its heart, the user experience in the GLE has been completely reimagined. The vehicle now boasts a widescreen cockpit featuring two 12.3 inch digital screens, standard Augmented Reality Navigation and state-of-the-art safety features such as PRE-SAFE Sound and Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning.

The innovation continues under the hood, where the Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 4MATIC is powered by an inline six-cylinder engine systematically electrified with 48-volt technology. It delivers 362 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque – with an extra 184 lb-ft of torque and 21 hp over short periods, thanks to EQ Boost technology.

For the first time, a GLE 350 4MATIC will also be available and will feature an economical 4-cylinder engine.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 4MATIC SUV will start at $64,000, while the GLE 450 4MATIC SUV will start from $72,000.

Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe

Making its Canadian debut in Montreal, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe is the main attraction among the vehicles featured on the "AMG Runway" at the Mercedes-Benz display.

To design the most powerful vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup, AMG engineers in Affalterbach rethought the entire construction of the GT, offering extra space and versatility without sacrificing heart-pounding performance. This 4 Door Coupe features a handcrafted AMG V8 engine that delivers 630 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque, racing from 0-100 km/hr in 3.2 seconds. This exhilarating performance is paired with everyday comfort, four doors and two rows of seating, along with a wealth of exclusive interior features such as intuitive touch controls and a widescreen cockpit.

Arriving in Canadian dealerships in early 2019, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe starts at $177,500.

There are two other variants of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe available. The Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4MATIC+Coupe, which starts at $115,000 and the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Coupe, which starts at $157,500.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class (Hatch & Sedan)

Mercedes-Benz is also displaying the A 250 4MATIC Hatch, which is available exclusively in Canada for the North American market, as well as the A 220 4MATIC Sedan.

The A-Class boasts standard LED headlamps and tail lights and a panoramic sunroof, and its sporty look is punctuated by a distinctive "shark-nose" design. The A-Class Hatch is powered by an efficient new 2.0L engine that delivers up to 221 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, while the 2.0L engine in the sedan delivers 188 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. Both feature a customizable driving experience care of DYNAMIC SELECT. Along with a youthful, sporty design, the A-Class offers benchmark technologies in its segment, including MBUX and a suite of impressive safety assistant systems. The vehicle's spacious interior features an avant-garde look that is anchored by a freestanding widescreen touchscreen display.
