Technical Highlights
- AMG DYNAMICS: The safety system ESP becomes part of the AMG DYNAMICS system– with the same, high level of handling safety. When the driving mode is selected, the multimedia display now shows the new AMG DYNAMICS mode. Drivers can choose from the following settings: "Basic" in which the GT shows very stable handling characteristics with high damping of the yaw rate, "Advanced" in which the GT remains neutral and well-balanced, "Pro" in which the driver is given even more support during dynamic driving manoeuvres, and "Master"—only available in the GT 63 S, which configures the vehicle for a slight oversteering tendency, small required steering angles and more agile steering response.
- AMG DYNAMIC SELECT: offers different drive programs with setting options for the engine, transmission and steering. DYNAMIC SELECT rocker switch in the centre console allows selection of five different drive programs: "C" (Comfort): Particularly efficient and comfortable, "S" (Sport): Sporty shift characteristics with shorter response times, "S+" (Sport+): even sportier gearshift characteristics with the shortest shift times, "RACE" including drift mode: shift characteristics and shift times for the ultimate race track experience (only available for the GT 63 S), and "Slippery" optimized for icy and snow-covered road surfaces.
- ACTIVE REAR WHEEL STEERING: Rear axle steering is standard on the V8 AMG GT 4-Door models. Up to a speed of 100 km/hr, the rear wheels point in the opposite direction to the front wheels (up to 0.5°) via two electric actuator motors. As a result, the car turns into corners with significantly higher agility. At speeds higher than 100 km/h the system turns the rear wheels (up to 1.3°) in the same direction as the front wheels, which noticeably improves driving stability.
- CENTRE CONSOLE 'V': Inspired by the two-door Mercedes-AMG GT, the center console of the new 4-Door model represents a further special feature: color display buttons, integrated into the distinctive and tailor-made trim element. The integral display can adjust the transmission, suspension, ESP®, exhaust system, start/stop function and rear spoiler position. These display buttons use colored and intuitive symbols to show various functions and are easy to operate with just a small tap of the finger.
- AMG TRACK PACE: The AMG TRACK PACE app enables you to record a host of data while driving and share this information with other racing enthusiasts on social networks, for example. Among other things, the app delivers information on the accelerator pedal position, acceleration, the speed driven or the lateral acceleration achieved. The course of your route is also recorded, thus enabling lap times with user-defined start and stop points and also sector times to be determined on appropriate track layouts and also compared. The app is also able to record a video signal using the smartphone camera.
