The New GLE SUV

• All-New Engine Variants: The GLE 450 4MATIC is powered by a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine systematically electrified with 48-volt technology. It features EQ Boost and the potential for fuel savings previously reserved for high-voltage hybrid technology. The GLE 350 4MATIC is offered for the first time with an economical and efficient turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine.
• E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL: Combining the 48-volt technology of the GLE 450 with the newly developed optional air suspension, E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL provides unparalleled ride comfort and can even actively lean the GLE into bends by up to 3° for a more comfortable journey.
• Active Stop-and-Go Assist: This driving assistance system enables the GLE to recognize traffic situations on highways at an early stage, and actively support the driver in stop-and-go traffic up to approximately 60 km/h.
• Turn-off function of Active Brake Assist: If there is risk of a collision with oncoming traffic when turning across lanes of traffic, the GLE will automatically brake to avoid the collision.
• 4MATIC: Available on the GLE 450, fully variable all-wheel drive (Torque on Demand) controls the torque distribution between the front and rear axle from 0‑100 % depending on the selected driving mode.
• Seating Comfort: The new GLE has a considerably longer wheelbase than its predecessor (+80 mm), allowing an optional third row to be offered and more space for rear passengers (+64 mm).

Technical Highlights

• Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX): A completely new multimedia system featuring innovative technology, and an intuitive operating system. MBUX technology is pioneering a new level of in-car experience. MBUX can be operated by Voice Control, the Touchscreen, Touchpad and Touch Control Buttons on the steering wheel. The system has Voice Control with natural language understanding and a verbal cue of "Hey Mercedes". Users can also operate MBUX in the new GLE SUV via gesture recognition.
• AUGMENTED REALITY: To assist guidance in complex traffic situations, MBUX connects augmented reality for navigation with the real world. The technology incorporates graphical navigation instructions and traffic information into live images. A camera in the windshield films the area in front of the vehicle. This recording runs in the media display. Highlighted, superimposed information such as house numbers and street names facilitate orientation to the destination.
• AMBIENT LIGHTING: With ambient lighting you can showcase the interior according to your personal preferences or current mood. The 64 colours of the ambient lighting create exciting colour schemes, which can alternate dynamically. Illuminated air vents or gaps in the head restraints of the sports seats add a further experience factor.
• Blind Spot Assist with exit Warning: This function lowers the risk of collision with other road users such as passing cyclists. Blind Spot Assist also monitors the blind spot when at standstill, and can warn the driver of approaching vehicles, motorcycles or bicycles when opening the door. This function is active for up to three minutes after switching off the engine. The warning appears in the exterior mirrors and is given audibly via the instrument cluster.
• ENERGIZING comfort control: The optional ENERGIZING comfort control connects various comfort systems in the vehicle, and uses musical and lighting moods in addition to a number of massage modes for a wide range of feel-good programs.
