Mercedes-Benz Canada announces four B-Class social media brand ambassadors

Following an extensive cross-country search through the B-The Face contest and nearly 20,000 votes cast from coast-to-coast, Mercedes-Benz Canada is pleased to introduce the four tech savvy and socially active individuals that have been chosen as social media ambassadors for the brand.

The countrywide search for the B-Class brand agents began late last year and endeavoured to find candidates who personified four associated lifestyle pillars: B-Seen, B-Adventurous, B-Spontaneous and B-Playful. Canadians who felt they embodied one or more of these key characteristics were invited to apply for the chance to share their active and urbane lifestyle through social networks and event activations as the face of the respective pillar they best characterize. 

The extremely competitive field of applicants was ultimately narrowed down to four winners. The B-Seen category was the most highly sought after classification, with over 42% of entrants selecting that pillar. B-Spontaneous, B-Playful and B-Adventurous were the next most popular categories respectively. Overall, Ontario had the most engagement of any province, with Quebec and British Columbia rounding out the top three in that order. Throughout the program, the #BTheFace hashtag was tweeted nearly 7,000 times. 

Congratulations to the following candidates who were able to best leverage their existing social influence through Twitter and Tumblr.

B-Seen - Michelle Danese, a professional singer/songwriter and actress

B-Adventurous - Charles Ruocco, a Mixed Martial Arts website president and real estate enthusiast 

B-Spontaneous – Natasha Chudyk, established food journalist and blogger

B-Playful – Chelsea McDermott, morning news anchor and radio station co-host

These four social influencers will now receive behind-the-scenes access to various Mercedes-Benz events, where their responsibility will be to report their impressions and share their experiences through social media channels. In addition, they will be provided a stylish new Mercedes-Benz B 250 for a period of one year. The versatile, powerful and fuel efficient B 250 will be the perfect complement to their colourful personalities and active lifestyles.
