Mercedes-Benz Canada Announces EQB 250 SUV Coming to Market in 2023

• 2023 EQB 250 SUV will be available in fall 2023¹ at a base MSRP of $59,990²

Mercedes-Benz Canada today announced that the versatile EQB 250 SUV will be coming to dealerships from coast-to-coast in fall 2023. The front-wheel drive EQB 250 is a practical luxury SUV with powerful proportions yet compact dimensions, providing a generous amount of space for up to seven passengers with an optional third row. The EQB 250 SUV will be available in Canada at a base MSRP of $59,990⁴, which may qualify it for the federal government's iZEV EV program purchase incentive of up to $5,000. The EQB 250 SUV may also qualify for provincial incentive programs, including British Columbia, where rebates go up to a maximum of $4,000⁵, and Québec, where rebates go up to a maximum of $7,000⁶.

The EQB 250 is fitted with a lithium-ion battery with a high energy density and produces 188 hp and 284 lb/ft torque. It has a usable energy content of 70.5 kWh and produces a competitive range of 394 kilometres⁷.

The 2023 EQB 250 will be available in Canada with extensive standard features, including: DYNAMIC SELECT; 18" wheels with all-season tires; 10.25" digital instrument cluster and 10.25" touchscreen multimedia display; Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX); Ambient Lighting; multifunction steering wheel in leather with touch button controls and shift paddles; power liftgate; voice control; split-folding rear seats (40/20/40); 8-way power driver and passenger seat with 3-position memory; rearview camera; adaptive braking technology; seven air bags; blind spot assist, and many more.

Space is generous with dimensions of 4684/1834/1667 millimetres (length/width1/height) in the five seat configuration. The headroom in the first row of seats is 1035 millimetres and 979 millimetres in the second row of the five-seater. At 87 millimetres, the knee space in the rear of the five-seater reaches a comfortable level. The trunk is spacious, with a load volume of 495 to 1710 or 465 to 1620 litres (figures for five- and seven-seaters respectively). The backrests of the seats in the second row can be adjusted in several stages as standard, and this row features fore/aft adjustment of 140 millimetres as an option. This enables the trunk to be enlarged by up to 190 litres and put to versatile use.

As an option, the EQB has a third row of seats comprising two extra individual seats. The seats offer people up to a height of 1.65 metres a comfortable amount of space. Extensive safety features include retractable head restraints, seat belts with belt tensioners and force limiters on all outer seats and a side windowbag that also covers passengers in the third row. A total of up to four child seats can be fitted in rows two and three, plus one more in the front passenger seat. To increase luggage space, the third-row seats can be lowered flush into the load floor.

Exterior highlights for the EQB include front and rear LED light bands that are seamlessly integrated into the black- panel grill. A horizontal fibre-optic strip connects the daytime running lights of the full-LED headlamps, ensuring a high level of recognizability both in daylight and at night. Blue colour highlights within the headlamp reinforce the signature Mercedes-Benz electric appearance.

The EQB achieves a very good Cd value from 0.28. Among the most important aerodynamic measures are the completely closed cooling air control system in the upper section, the aerodynamically efficient front and rear aprons, a very smooth, almost completely enclosed underbody, specially optimized Aero wheels and specifically adapted front and rear wheel spoilers.
